What about America?
It’s been two days in America, first of all, it was a tiring journey from China to American, I spent like over 17 hours on the airplane. Fortunately everything was well including the Customs. It was to my surprise that it took me over 1 hour in the line waiting for entry approval in the Customs just because the computer was down and I barely made the transit flight.
In Houston, what I see is that things here are big, there are big shopping malls every where, big roads, big garbage bins, big everything. The road has like 7 to 8 lanes which I did not see in China. Yes, there are huge shopping malls, lots of items and the prices are super… expensive, if you change it to Chinese currency. However, it is really easy to check out. Everything was automatic, you do self service checking out in Walmart, it is super easy and convenient.
One important thing is that the traffic in Houston is, as I heard, very in order. I have not seen traffic jam so far. One another thing that surprised me is that I have not seen people walking around, what you see is only cars on the road.
You really cannot live without a car especially in Houston, there is no or few public transportations in this area. If you’d like to go to downtown, it will probably take you at least 30 minutes driving. I don’t know what I am gonna do here for the next few months. Tomorrow I will go to Charleston, West Virginia, hope to see more interesting things.
