FBV Valve Assembling Competition

Every Saturday FBV has a meeting for all departments, as usual today there was no exception, however, before the meeting, we organized a competition on assembling a ball valve and the first three winners would be awarded, of course, the rest people would get participation gifts.

The rules were two words: quick, accurate; and the aim of the competition is to know each part of the valve better and how to assemble a valve of course. And our judge was our QC, Wilson, he is the know-how of valve in FBV, strict in quality, never let a sand in his eyes. :)

The tools were all set, our prototype, the 2″ ball valve is ready to be “DISMEMBERED”, thrilled…

The first one to go was William, the new guy in our office, although he is new, he did a great job except a little misalignment of valve stem was found during assembling which causes stopper could not fit in. Being the first one, it requires courage and confidence, I think our new William did it. heheh…

During the competition, one big mistake was found twice in two different people, and the judge gave one of them ZERO point because the seat (RPTFE) was totally reversed, Jennifer, that’s why the ball could not never fit with the seat, gave the other one 50 points as the seat was damaged due to improper installation of ball, Sophia, remember never damage the seat, haha… :-)

The QC’s student Denny who just came to our company for two weeks, got the highest mark which I admire as well as jealous…  He finished assembling the valve within 4 minutes and finished it correctly.

From this competition, we learned a lot, from details to the overall looking. Never miss a thing, because if you miss the thing during the process, you must discard and go back to make it up, then a lot time wasted, once and for all is good for everyone.

ONCE AND FOR ALL, ONCE AND FOR ALL
